In 2015, my child had a brand new diagnosis and I felt completely lost. Nobody handed me an owner's manual. I remember sitting in my car after appointments, wondering how anyone was supposed to figure this out alone.

What I was really craving was connection. Other moms who had walked this road a few steps ahead of me. Mentors who could say, "I've been there, here's what helped." So I started Moms of Amazing Kids to find them.

Over the years, something beautiful happened. Moms started sharing what they knew: the provider who finally got it, the form nobody told us about, the workaround that saved a school year. The village grew, and so did everything we learned together. Today it has become a resource for all of us. But at its heart, it is still the same thing it was in 2015: parents lifting each other up, sharing what we know, and making sure nobody has to navigate this alone.

But the resources were never really the point.

MAK exists because it is easy to disappear into being someone's mom. The appointments, the advocacy, the invisible load. Somewhere along the way, you can lose track of who you were before all of it. The village is here to remind you that you are still in there, and to make sure you never have to walk this road by yourself.
