Morningstar Access at Boston Children’s Museum offers children with special needs/medical needs the opportunity to visit the Museum at a time when there are only a few other visitors. At these times, we have a limit of 100 guests, and children and their families can explore the Museum with less concern about infections and large crowds.

(Boston) *Accessiblity & Limited Sensory Times

The New England Aquarium is a global leader in ocean exploration and marine conservation. With more than 1.3 million visitors a year, the Aquarium is one of the premier visitor attractions in Boston and a major public education resource for the region.

The New England Aquarium has partnered with KultureCity to help people with special sensory processing needs enjoy their visit. Kits, which include fidget tools, noise-canceling headphones, and other resources, may be checked out at the Information Desk.

Visitors using wheelchairs and visitors with visual impairments are welcome at the Aquarium free of charge. See more accomodations on their site!

The Discovery Museum

Museum (Acton) *Free Events for Deaf, visual impairments, and Sensory Sensitivites

Discovery Museum is a hands-on museum that blends science, nature, and play, inspiring families to explore and learn together. The museum and its Discovery Woods accessible outdoor nature playscape and 550 sf treehouse blend the best of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) learning on a beautiful 4.5-acre campus abutting 180 acres of conservation land in Acton, MA, about 20 miles west of Boston.

The Especially for Me event series offers dedicated hours and free museum admission for families facing developmental challenges. During these events, we offer accommodations that increase access to museum exhibits and provide an opportunity for families to network with one another in an understanding environment.

The event titles indicate the types of accommodations provided, but any family that would benefit from the accommodations is welcome.
